Michael McCrary
Bio
Michael McCrary is a NYC based educator/choreographer. Michael has had an extensive career as a professional theatre artist before making the switch as a full time creative/teacher. Past credits: Shrek, the Musical (National/International Tour), Norwegian Cruise Lines, Carnival Cruise Lines, Jean Ann Ryan Productions, A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, Chicago, RENT, Hercules (Dance Lab). As an educator, Michael has taught masterclasses/intensives for Endless Talent, Star Talent Productions, Broadway Dance Center, the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, International Ballet, Tenth Talent, Lets Dance, and SHOCK. Michael’s choreography can be seen all over the world. Currently he is the Associate Choreographer of Mu’allaqat: An Extension of Glories in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Past credits: MSC Cruise Lines (Armonia and Lirica), Iberostar Resorts, Mariah Carey, The Producers, Elf, Head Over Heels, TD Bank WOW! Awards. Upcoming: TD Bank CEO Awards, Café Metronome (NYC), Shooting Star (Broadway). Michael has a BFA in Musical Theatre/Dance from the prestigious Boston Conservatory.
Class Description
Jazz Workshop & Musical Theater Workshop
Michael’s class will begin with an upbeat warmup working on alignment, strength, and cardio. Dancers will then move to technical exercises across the floor working on jazz progressions. Following warmup and across the floor, dancers will learn a choreographed routine. His choreography is jazz/theatre based, high energy, and athletic which will challenge the dancer to use their technique, musicality, and stamina.
