Class Description

Commercial Hip Hop: Commercial Hip Hop w/ Ro is an open level class that caters mostly to learning new ways to move your body. There are so many forms of hip-hop, but this class focuses more on free-form hip hop. We will learn how to flow through our bodies. We will focus on knowing when to dance hard and when to soften it up, or as I like to call it, being "milky". We will also focus on being confident in free-styling. Many times, we are scared to look crazy in front of others, so this class will be a safe space to be able to freely discover who you are as a dancer. We will start each session with a quick warm-up and stretch and then we will hop right into learning the choreography. Students can expect to learn how to study the music, knowing when and where to place the moves. Students will also focus on performance. We want to envision ourselves dancing as if we were on stage with the artist of the chosen song.
